Many Lightworkers have worked extensively with the Law of Attraction. However, most have never heard of its complement, the Universal Law of Action. This is a fundamental reason for the challenges most spiritual entrepreneurs face in terms of sustainable income. This 4-part teaching series is going to both unlock the principles of the Law of Action AND bring a compassionate lens to the reasons many Lightworkers resist this important component of work.

Let’s continue with Work Wound #3 and Part 3 of the Law of Action.

Compassionate Lens for Work Wound #3: Being Fear-Driven and Trauma-Driven

The third work wound needing healing is working from fear and trauma. Fear is contagious. Just watch a flock of birds take flight when one bird is startled. Fear travels through your system like a cold freeze, and when we make business decisions out of fear, those decisions tend to fail because their roots crack within the cold.

The same with trauma-driven actions. If we have unhealed trauma, that trauma creeps in and takes over, often without our conscious awareness. When trauma happens, we develop internal rules to keep us safe. For instance, a woman walked through a park and was assaulted. She creates the rule, never walk through that park. The rule is intended to keep us safe, but it also limits our world and the possibilities we can create in our world.

When we bring unhealed trauma into running a business, it significantly handicaps the business, and we are often left wondering why success eludes us. Unhealed trauma not only protects us from harm, it also keeps us from being able to feel and know our true desires.

💡 How This Shows Up in Spiritual Entrepreneurs

For many healers and intuitives, this fear-driven and trauma-driven wound manifests in a particularly insidious way:

The Imposter Syndrome Shield: You have profound gifts—perhaps you’ve facilitated life-changing healings, delivered readings that brought people to tears, or held transformational space for deep soul work. But when it comes time to put an offer out into the world, a voice whispers: “Who am I to charge for this? What if I’m a fraud? What if this time it doesn’t work?” This isn’t humility—it’s an unhealed trauma response.

Perhaps early in your journey someone dismissed your gifts, or you witnessed a teacher you trusted “selling out,” or you absorbed the message that spiritual gifts should be free.

Now that trauma creates an invisible rule: “Stay small and you’ll stay safe.” But this rule also keeps you from the deep desire you may not even let yourself feel: to be fully seen, fully valued, and fully compensated for the sacred work you do.

Law of Action Part 3

Milanovich and McCune continue,

“Our problems seem to lie in several areas. Strange as it may seem, many of us do not know what we desire. We want to be comfortable, to get along, and not to have serious problems but we may not have goals that are accompanied by the passion to achieve them. Goals and desires are the fuel for success. Our increased awareness of the importance of goals now is incorporated in management circles as developing a vision of where we want to be in the future. It is this ideal state that many of us cannot visualize or allow ourselves to dream about.”

When Trauma Blocks Desire

Here’s what Milanovich and McCune are illuminating: Trauma doesn’t just make us afraid to act—it makes us unable to know what we truly want.

Notice their radical observation: “Strange as it may seem, many of us do not know what we desire.”

This isn’t about lacking vision or ambition. This is about how unhealed trauma creates a numbing effect that disconnects us from our deepest longings.

The Comfortable Cage

When the authors describe wanting “to be comfortable, to get along, and not to have serious problems,” they’re pointing to what happens when trauma narrows our world.

For spiritual entrepreneurs, this can look like:

  • “I just want enough clients to pay my bills” (when secretly you dream of serving hundreds)
  • “I’m fine doing one-on-one work” (when your soul longs to teach groups)
  • “I don’t need to be visible” (when you’re actually terrified of being seen)

These aren’t humble aspirations—they’re trauma-protective compromises. Your system has learned that bigger dreams mean bigger risks, and it’s keeping you in what feels like safety, even when that “safety” is actually a cage.

Goals Without Passion

Milanovich and McCune make a crucial distinction: having goals versus having “goals that are accompanied by the passion to achieve them.”

When you’re operating from unhealed trauma, you might set goals that look good on paper:

  • “I’ll launch a group program”
  • “I’ll build my email list to 1,000”
  • “I’ll earn $10K per month”

But notice—do these goals light you up? Or do they feel like obligations, like the “right” things a business owner “should” do?

Goals and desires are the fuel for success. Without the passion—without the connection to your true soul desire—you’re trying to drive a car with an empty tank. You might roll forward on momentum for a bit, but you won’t get far.

When You Cannot Allow Yourself to Dream

Here’s where the teaching gets to the heart of the matter: “It is this ideal state that many of us cannot visualize or allow ourselves to dream about.“

Not “don’t know how to dream.” Not “haven’t thought about it.”

Cannot allow.

This is trauma speaking. When you’ve been hurt, when you’ve been disappointed, when you’ve absorbed the message that your gifts aren’t valuable or that success means selling out—your system creates a protective barrier around your deepest desires.

It’s too painful to want something fully and risk having it denied. So you dampen the desire itself. You tell yourself:

  • “I don’t really need that many clients”
  • “Money isn’t that important to me”
  • “I’m not interested in being ‘successful’ in that way”

But underneath, if you’re really honest, if you let yourself feel past the protective numbing—there’s a desire.

Maybe it’s the desire to:

  • Serve at full capacity and be well-compensated
  • Be recognized as a leader in your field
  • Build something that creates legacy and impact
  • Have true financial freedom while doing sacred work
  • Be visible and valued without shame

The Healing Path to True Desire

When you do the trauma healing work—when you retrieve those parts that had to shut down desire to survive—something profound happens.

You begin to feel again. Not just fear and protection, but longing. Passion. The fuel that actually moves mountains.

This is what Milanovich and McCune mean when they talk about “goals that are accompanied by the passion to achieve them.” These aren’t manufactured goals. They’re not “should” goals. They’re the goals that emerge when you’re in touch with your essential self, when trauma is no longer running the show.

And from that place, you can visualize and allow yourself to dream about the ideal state—not as fantasy, but as the natural next expression of your gifts in circulation.

The Bridge: From Protection to Possibility

The Universal Law of Action requires us to know what we desire. But trauma keeps desire locked away in a protective vault.

The healing work isn’t about forcing yourself to dream bigger or shaming yourself for playing small. It’s about gently and compassionately addressing the trauma that made it unsafe to want, to dream, to claim your full power.

When you heal the trauma, desire returns. Passion returns. And with it, the fuel that makes the Law of Action work.

This is Sacred Commerce: not pushing through fear, but healing the wounds that create fear, so your business can flow from wholeness rather than protection.

💫🌿 Let Yourself Feel What You Actually Want

You’ve just explored how unhealed fear and trauma don’t just make you afraid to act — they make you unable to know what you truly desire.

That’s the deepest wound of all.

And the healing doesn’t begin with a business plan. It begins with allowing yourself to feel again — to touch the longing that trauma has kept safely locked away.

This short guided visualization video creates exactly that opening.

🎥 “The Missing Law That’s Keeping Spiritual Entrepreneurs Stuck (It’s Not the Law of Attraction)”

In this gentle embodied experience, you’ll be invited to feel — perhaps for the first time in a long time — what it would be like to:

  • 🌀 Have crystal clarity about where your business is headed — a vision that feels alive in your body
  • 🌀 Be fully seen, fully supported, and fully valued for the sacred work you carry
  • 🌀 Move beyond the imposter syndrome shield and into the version of yourself who allows herself to dream

“It is this ideal state that many of us cannot visualize or allow ourselves to dream about.” — Milanovich & McCune

This visualization gently invites you past that barrier — not by pushing, but by letting you feel what’s possible.

If it feels a little scary when you watch it… that may be the most important sign of all. Your spirit may be recognizing that this is exactly what you’ve been protecting yourself from feeling.

✨ Press play. Let yourself want what you want. Your desires are sacred — and they are safe.
